Over the East Bay

April 14 2015

Today I visited the airplane at the maintenance hangar in Palo Alto. It is undergoing the 100 hours revision before I leave with it. Sorry I did not take any pictures to share. The engine was all exposed and the expert mechanics working all over it.  They are telling me that everything is going perfectly and on time. They plan to have it all completed by late tonight or early tomorrow.

  • Trip start currently scheduled for 7AM (PT) this Thursday, April 16.

The countdown is already ticking.

Last review of my lists and equipment:
- Navigation and other communication electronics (and all the corresponding chargers!)
- Solar Power charger and accessories
- Photography equipment
- Sleeping bag, tent and survival equipment
- Food and water
- Documentation
- Clothing and miscellaneous

Weather update:
The huge storms front sweeping the plains all the way to the east coast seems that has almost reached the Atlantic. The smaller front over California with the Low pressure center in Utah is already half the way, however now a High pressure entering Oregon from the Pacific is sending strong easterly winds over mid-southern California; The so called Santa Ana Winds. Let's see how long these last...   I may have to fight them during my first leg to Sedona, AZ.
